League Philosophy:
The Chester/Mendham Lacrosse League is a non-profit 501c3, recreational lacrosse club for Girls and Boys (K-8). We maintain that there is a place for everyone in Chester/Mendham Youth Lacrosse, regardless of skill, experience or athletic ability. All you need is a desire to play and a willingness to respect the game. Our coaches, parents and players are encouraged to have fun while developing the player's character, skill and love for the game. We value good sportsmanship (both on and off the field) and encourage our player’s to reach their full potential. We hope our youth can develop into great Lacrosse players and leave our club with fond memories of a program that was the foundation and the inspiration of their continued future playing Lacrosse.
At the lower grade levels, the emphasis will be on having fun, learning the tradition of the game, skill development and either inter-squad or mini-tournament level competitive play. At the older grade levels, physical contact should be expected in the boys game and games are more competitive. The emphasis will be on skill development, fun and preparedness for games. No prior lacrosse experience or special athleticism is required. Good sportsmanship on the part of all players, coaches and fans are always the standard.
